- The Department of Ophthalmology of ELMC&H is actively involved in research activities. Academic conferences have been conducted by faculty members.

Information Common Diseases
- The Department of Ophthalmology, ELMC&H is taking care of all common ocular diseases, both extraocular and intraocular. Usual surgeries performed include I.O.L. implantation for cataract using SICS & PHACO technique, glaucoma surgery & surgery for Lid & Lacrimal sac diseases, Squint surgery.
- The department is equipped also with advance equipment viz. OCT, Nd-YAG Laser, Automated Perimeter, FFA Unit and Green Laser.
