Physiotherapy is the science that deals with the management and rehabilitation of patients who are physically challenged or disabled. This health-care profession helps people sustain, improve, or reclaim their physical strength, work and mobility. Evidence-based kinesiology, electrotherapy, shockwave mobility, exercise and medications used to treat chronic soft tissue and bone disorders.
The curriculum taught at Era University, Lucknow aims at assisting students in developing self-confidence so that they can function in a demanding community as consultants, experts, or as educators in a variety of professional settings.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the course, students should be able to
- Examine, evaluate, diagnose, plan, execute and document physiotherapy treatment independently or along with the multidisciplinary team
- Identify patients with impairments and functional limitations and advice all routine physiotherapeutic procedures as per the evaluation
- Operate and maintain physiotherapy equipments used in treatment
- Decide a treatment plan (both electrotherapy and exercise therapy) & procedures independently
- Educate patients about various physiotherapeutic interventions
ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION
- 10+2 or equivalent examination from any recognized Board with minimum 50% marks in physics, chemistry and biology.
COURSE DURATION
4.5 years (8 semesters+6 months internship)
INTERNSHIP
A compulsory six months (24 weeks) of internship after successful completion of the course. The internship can be done in ELMC&H or after approval in any hospital having all required speciality & super speciality departments.

Graduates of Physiotherapy program can easily find employment opportunities in hospitals/nursing homes, sports teams / fitness centers, community rehabilitation / health planning boards in both private and public sectors as well as in independent physiotherapy clinics.
