Programme Overview

The M.Sc. in Molecular Medicine is a two-year program designed to provide an in-depth understanding of the molecular and cellular mechanisms of diseases, blending theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical training.
This program offers diverse career opportunities both in India and abroad. Students can pursue roles as Genetic counsellors, Genome analysts, or Clinical diagnostic experts, contributing to personalized medicine and patient care. They can also advance in research and academia or build careers in R&D, drug development, and the pharmaceutical industry. Additionally, opportunities exist in forensic genetics, public health, and bioinformatics, leveraging molecular biology expertise to tackle healthcare challenges and drive biomedical innovations.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES

  • Provide hands-on experience with advanced laboratory techniques and methodologies (PCR, PCR-RFLP, Flow Cytometry, Sanger Sequencing and Next-Generation Sequencing, and CRISPR etc.), enabling students to conduct independent research.
  • Integrate key aspects of medical sciences, molecular biology, biotechnology, and biochemistry to offer a holistic understanding of molecular medicine.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must have obtained a minimum of 55% marks in their Bachelor’s degree in any field of Life Sciences or Applied Sciences (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Ecology, Molecular Biology, Zoology, Applied Biology, Veterinary Sciences and Bioengineering) from recognized Universities/College.
