The Era University Central Library celebrated its 3rd Foundation Day and 127th Birthday Anniversary of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, who known as Father of Library Science in India. Dr. Mohd Kashif Khan, University Librarian welcomed the guests and focused on the status and significance of Library in the context of Modern Scenario. The Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor of Era University, Prof. Abbas Ali Mahdi inaugurated the function. The Program started after cake cutting ceremony, Prof. Abbas Ali Mahdi addressed the gathering and spoke about contributions of Dr. S.R. Raganathan, further he also announced that from next year Era University will start the Library Science Courses i.e. B.Lib., M.Lib., M.Phil., Ph.D. The keynote speech was delivered by Dr. M.U. Raja, Ex-Librarian of IIM, Lucknow, he spoke on five laws of Library Science as enumerated by Dr. S.R. Ranganthan. A workshop on "Library Automation" presentation was delivered by Dr. Mohd Kashif Khan.
Dr. Sucheta P. Dandekar from Seth G.S. Medical College, Mumbai also graced the occasion as a special guest and Ms. Sufiya Sultan, Col. D. K. Wasunkar, Prof. M. Shakeel Siddiqui, Prof. Ali Ahmad, Prof. Rina Bhowal, Prof. Tasleem Raza and many faculty members with students were present on the occasion.
The Program finally ended with vote of thanks by Prof A.N. Srivastava.
