Hands-on workshop on Spinal Manipulation Techniques
Physiotherapy Department organized Two days hands-on workshop on “spinal manipulation techniques” on 19th and 20th July 2019. Associate Professor Dr. Sunil Bhatt, Certified Chiropractor, H.O.D-J.M.S Hospital, Dehradun gave physiotherapy and orthopedics students a complete insight of various vertebral defaults and malalignments present in the spine and also demonstrated the correction techniques with the help of palpation and manipulation. Over 180 students and clinical practitioners attended the workshop to improve their skills and enhance practical knowledge on the subject.
The workshop was inaugurated by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Era University, Prof. Abbas Ali Mahdi, who congratulated the organizing committee for giving students a better chance to learn & understand the basics & expertize in their clinical skills. Dr. G.K. Singh, H.O.D-Orthopaedics, shared his clinical experience about treating patients with manipulations & incorporating physiotherapy along with orthopedic treatment which helped patients to recover much earlier. Lt. Col. Reena Bhowal, Principal, Era College of Nursing, congratulated department of physiotherapy for conducting practical based learning sessions. Prof. Ashok Sharma, Dean & Director of E.I.A.H.Sc & R, shared his vision about the requirement of central physiotherapy council & importance of physiotherapy treatment & manual therapy. Dr.Sumit Asthana, Organizing Chairperson & H.O.D, Physiotherapy, E.I.A.H.Sc & R, presented the vote of thanks to all the dignitaries & guests present in the inauguration ceremony.

Tripathi, (Retd) AIIMS, New Delhi, Dr.Mansoor Khan, KGMU-Lucknow, Dr. Yogesh Mandhyan, Sr. Physiotherapist, Awadh Hospital, Dr. Sudeep Saxena, Sr. Physiotherapist, Dr.Arun Chauhan (Organizing Secretary), Faculties & organizing committee of workshop from E.I.A.H.Sc & R, Dr. Shallabh Kumar Singh, Dr. Anupama Dhuria, Dr.Kainat Fatima, students, senior faculties & H.O.D’s of ELMCH were also present in the workshop.
