Understanding the importance of Drug discovery and their processes of
development technology in medical science, Chemistry Division of Department of
Biotechnology at Era University organized a series of guest lectures on New Trends in Drug Discovery and Development on January 15, 2025.
The event was led by Dr. M. Faheem Khan, Associate Professor of the department, and was
graced by the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Abbas Ali Mahdi, the Honourable Vice
Chancellor of the University, as the Chief Guest.
In the program, Dr. Imran Ahmed Khan from Jamia Hamdard University, Delhi,
delivered a lecture on computer-based designing of drug molecules
against cholera infection.
He also elaborated on the contribution and importance of siatic acid
binding sites in designed molecules and how to select them to develop drug leads.
Meanwhile, Dr. Chandra Saurabh Azad, Assistant Professor at Texas A&M
University Kingsville, USA, discussed the significance of photo catalysis and focused on various types of targeted drug’s synthesis and design.
