The Creative Arts Club, Era University conducted 15 days Activities and Programs in and outside the Era Campus as per the directives of the directives of the State Government Order Reference Number: 2442/3-2024-08(14)/2018. The events spanned over a fortnight, in the month of October, 2024, starting on October 9, with a formal meeting of the Road Safety Club, by Creative Club Convener, Dr. Rupali Mirza, with the co-conveners, Dr. Shazia Fatima and Ms. Hershika Verma. On October 14, 2024, Road Safety Club was formed including student volunteers. October 16, 2024, marked the ‘Oath Administration Ceremony’ for taking a formal pledge for “Road Safety”.
A Slogan Writing Competition on ‘observing safety on roads’ was organized on October 19, 2024 followed by a Rally on Road Safety by volunteers of Road Safety Club and students on October 22, 2024, during which the students assembled in front of the University Building and marched on the roads outside the campus, spreading awareness among the locals in the vicinity.
A Two Day, Eye Check- up Camp was organized by Department of Optometry in collaboration with Creative Club and Road Safety volunteers for eye check-up for public and private conveyance drivers on Ground Floor, University Building on October 25 and October 26, 2024. An Essay Writing Competition was organized on ‘Road Safety’ on First Floor, University Building on October 26, 2024.
A Special Training on Road Safety Rules and Regulations was conducted by Department of Soft Skills in the Mini Auditorium, in which students from all faculties of Era University participated along with the employees of the Transport Department. A Skit directed by Dr. Aqeel Abbas on Road Safety featured students displaying their dramatic skills, playing characters of traffic police interacting with good Samaritans and careless drivers. The skit appealed to the audience with its punch of humour. A Group Discussion for discussing better safety on roads was conducted by Soft Skills Department in the Council Hall on October 25, 2024. Mr. Kaunain Abidi and other faculty members from Soft Skills, included Ms. Ingeela and Mr. Ashfaq.
October 28, 2024 marked the ‘Posting of Road Safety Slogans on the Department Notice Boards’ across Era Campus followed by Interview and Interaction of Students on the topic of Road Safety. The two weeks of Road Safety will be concluded by two Debates on observing safety on roads by faculty members from English Department, Dr. Saleha Jafri and Dr. Aqeel Abbas respectively on 29th and 30th October, 2024.
