Women’s Day is a big event and is celebrated to commemorate the cultural, political andsocioeconomic achievements of women. Era College of Pharmacy, Era University, celebrated“ International women’s day” on 7th March 2022 on a theme “Gender Equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”.
The programme commenced with floral welcome of guest and the inaugural speech by Dr. Mohini Chaurasia, Principal, Era college of pharmacy who emphasized on the role of women in our society and significance of Gender equalityto all.
The programme was presided over by Dr. Savitri Thakur, Prof. emeritus, Department of medical education, Era University, who interacted with the students and explained how gender equality can be achieved in our society she also emphasized on the problems which females are facing in our country.
Further, a very empowering address was given by our chief guests Ms Anshu & Ms Seema, representative from Chhanv foundation, Lucknow. They motivated students by sharing theirstories and how they overcome from the trauma of acid attack and became the survivors. There was an interactive session between students and the sheros.
Interactive session was followed by prize distribution to the winner of poster competition (Mr Amit Chudhary, Anamta khan and Mo Rayyan Ansari). This was organized to spread awareness about gender equality among new generation.
The programme concluded with memento presentation and vote of thanks presented by Mr.Viqar Agha, Associate professor, Era College of pharmacy.
