The ten-days Orientation Program for students of Bachelor Degree Courses of Faculty of Science (B.Sc. Computer Science, B.Sc. Food and Nutrition, B.A./ B.Sc. Liberal Education, B.Sc. Biotechnology), B.Pharm, College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences (B.Opto., BMLT, BRIT, BPT) started with the Induction Program on August 8, 2023 at the auditorium in the Pharmacy Block, Era University, Lucknow.
The Induction program was graced by prominent dignitaries including hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abbas Ali Mahdi, Registrar, Era University, Prof. Anu Chandra, Controller of Examination, Prof. Tasleem Raza, Additional Proctor, Dr. Fareya Haider, Dean, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences & Research, Prof. S. Riaz Mehdi, Dean, Faculty of Science, Prof. A.K. Srivastava, Director and Dean, Pharmacy, Prof. (Dr.) S.J.S Flora, Principal, Era College of Pharmacy, Dr. Mohini Chaurasia and Dr Rupali Mirza, Incharge, Induction and Orientation Program.
The hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Era University emphasized the importance of compliance to attendance and other rules and regulations on campus. He advised the students to maintain hundred percent attendance so that they may become well-versed in their subject knowledge and have extra attendance, more than the UGC specified rule of 75 percent attendance. Having an edge in the required attendance would help them to plan their leaves when required in emergency situations. He spoke about the amenities on the Era University campus, the hospital being one of them. Students can avail hospital facility on campus which is a unique one at the Era Campus. He also told the students about the existence of the Department of Happiness at Era University which is one of a kind.
The Registrar, Prof Anu Chandra briefed the students about Faculties and Departments at Era University and informed them about the existence of an efficient placement cell. The Controller of Examination, Prof. Tasleem Raza shared the examination pattern at Era University. The Additional Proctor, Dr. Fareya Haider discussed discipline-related expectations with the students. Dean, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences & Research, Prof. S. Riaz Mehdi, discussed the outstanding ranking and placements of the previous batches of Allied Health Sciences and wished the new students to be equally well placed after the completion of their course at Era University. Dean, Faculty of Science, Prof. A.K. Srivastava welcomed the students on the campus and ensured them that the faculty on campus is there to assist them with any issues, Director and Dean, Pharmacy, Prof. (Dr.) S.J.S Flora made the students comfortable discussing his short narrative about his own college life. He encouraged the students by saying that they are backed by an excellent faculty who will help them achieve their career goals. Principal, Era College of Pharmacy, spoke about the importance of communication skills and counseled the students to focus on self-improvement.
The Program ended with a vote of thanks by Dr Rupali Mirza, Incharge, Orientation Program who thanked her entire team for arranging the program with efficiency. The Orientation team includes Dr Jyoti Anurag, Ms Saleha Jafri, Dr Minhaj Usmani, Dr Shazia Fatima, Dr Anupama Dhuria, Dr Shipra Srivastava, Ms Laiba and Mr Ajaydeep. The program was also graced by other eminent dignitaries of the Era Campus, Heads and Coordinators of Departments from faculty of Allied, Pharmacy and Sciences, Assistant Registrar and faculty members from various departments.
