The World TB day was celebrated by the Department of Pulmonary Medicine, Era's Lucknow Medical College and Hospital, Era University, Lucknow. Last year on the occasion of World TB Day, a pledge was taken to declare Era campus TB free under the guidance of Professor Rajendra Prasad.
Era University Campus was declared as "TB Free" by Dr. Abbas Ali Mahdi, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of Era University. Speaking on the occasion Prof. Mahdi said that Era University will continue to make efforts to ensure that the campus remains TB Free.
Dr. M.M.A Faridi, Principal, ELMCH, spoke on how Era has developed a new alert system in the computerized OPD which instantaneously alerts the authorities as soon as a patient is diagnosed or written a prescription for tuberculosis which in turn will help in improving the notification process in tuberculosis.
Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Professor and Head, Pulmonary Medicine, Era's Lucknow Medical College, Vice Chairman National Task Force RNTCP and former Director, Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute, Delhi, delivered keynote address on this occasion on how this effort was made possible after the whole campus was successfully screened including the students, staff and also the faculty.
Shri. R.C. Tripathi, Chairman, UPTB Association, STF Chairperson, Professor Suryakant, STO, Dr. Santosh Gupta, STO UP, Dr. Rishi Saxena, Deputy STO UP,Dr B.K. Singh and large number of faculty members including Dr. Anand Verma, Senior Medical Officer, Dr. Rahul Rathore, Assistant Professor and a large number of faculty members and PG Residents were present on the occasion.
