Teachers not only impart knowledge to their students but they also inspire, encourage and instil
curiosity to find solutions to problems. To honour these remarkable people Era University
Organized Teacher’s Day felicitation program on 5th September 2023.
Celebrating Teacher’s Day by recognising the efforts of teachers, Era University paid tribute to
commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan and appreciated the efforts of
their teachers. Maulana Khalid Rasheed, Farangi Mahali, President, Islamic Centre of India was
the chief guest for the event and he also felicitated the teachers on the occasion with mementos and
certificates for their outstanding contributions in the field of Medical Sciences.
The event started with the welcome address by Vice Chancellor of Era University Prof. Abbas Ali
Mahdi where he welcomed the guests and emphasized the importance of teachers in our lives. In his
speech he mentioned that Teacher’s day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr.
S Radhakrishnan, the first Vice President and second President of India. The former president was
not just a great statesman but also a distinguished philosopher and an eminent teacher. Prof. Mahdi
said that teachers are not only the mentors of the students but they are also the role models. Students
try to follow in the foot-steps of the teachers therefore there is great responsibility on the shoulders
of the teachers.
Chief Guest Maulana Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahali felicitated eminent teachers for their
immense contributions and gave a felicitation speech where he exhorted the students to become
good human beings by following the path shown by their teachers. He said that teachers are not just
people who teach but they are also the ones who mould students and educate them about rights,
freedom, and the values that make students good human beings. He said that teachers help us
understand the importance of fairness, equality, and justice in society.
On this occasion Era University felicitated fourteen senior eminent teachers for their exemplary
services, commitment, devotion and unwavering hard work towards the progress of the institution.

(Medicine), Prof. Dr. Syed Riyaz Mehdi (Pathology & Dean Faculty of Allied Health Sciences),
Prof. Dr. Jeevan Prakash (Emergency Medicine), Prof. Dr. Rajendra Prasad (Respiratory Medicine),
Prof. Dr. Dhirendra Kumar Saxena (Radiology), Prof. Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sharma (Anatomy), Prof.
Dr. Surendra Singh (Aneshthesiology), Prof. Dr. Kumkum Srivastava (Obstetrics & Gynaecology)
