The Department of Optometry, Era University celebrated the by organizing a Continuing Medical Education Programme on the topic “Advancing Optometry’s Commitment to Global Eye Care”. The program was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Era University Prof. Abbas Ali Mahdi. Speaking on the occasion Prof. Mahdi complimented the department of Optometry for organizing the event. He said that awareness about various eye related problems is very important and that is why World Optometry Day is celebrated. He said that there is a need to further develop optometry and support optometrists in promoting eye health and vision care through education and outreach programs. He said that every year since 1986, March 23rd is celebrated as World Optometry Day, so as to recognize and raise awareness about the important role of optometrists in providing eye care services and improving vision health worldwide. He said that let us celebrate this day and continue to raise awareness of the importance of vision care and overall eye health.
Dr. Anitha Arvid, Head, Department of Optometry, G.D. Goenka, University, Gurgaon (Haryana), Dr. Mohd. Norruz Zaman, Head, Department of Optometry, Sankara College of Optometry, Ludhiana (Punjab) and Dr. Shazina Saeed, Public Health Researcher from Amity University, Noida were the esteemed faculty who delivered talks during the CME program.
