Social Outreach Campaign to All India Shia Orphanage by Creative Arts Club, Era University
The Creative Arts Club, Era University visited the All India Shia Orphanage on December 21, 2023. The club’s team went there as a part of the social outreach initiative 'we need more Santas this Christmas season'. The students at Era University collected winter clothes for a period of three weeks, up to December 18, 2023, which were donated to the orphanage.
The inmates of the orphanage were given small Christmas gifts. Student volunteers from Era University, Aqsa Nihal, Khwaja Aftab Ahmed and Faiz Ahmed Khan played games with the children at the orphanage and gave them prizes as a token of appreciation. Ali Abbas, student of Era University also sang a motivational song for the children at the orphanage. Mr Syed Shameem Ahmad, Secretary of the orphanage, briefed the outreach team about the routine and requirements of the inmates.
The Pro-Vice Chancellor, Era University, Prof. Dr. Farzana Mahdi was the guiding light and inspiration behind the entire campaign. She always supports and encourages such social service campaigns. The outreach initiative was organized and conducted by Dr Rupali Mirza, Chairperson, Creative Arts Club, Era University accompanied by co-conveners, Dr Shazia Fatima and Ms Hershika Verma.
