The Department of Orthopedic Surgery of Era’s Lucknow Medical College and Hospital, Era University organized a four days Training Program for the treatment of Clubfoot in association with Anushkaa Foundation which is an NGO working in the area of eliminating Clubfoot disease. This is a yearly workshop to teach Government Doctors how to manage Congenital Talipes EquinoVarus (Club Foot disease), a foot deformity occurring in 1/1000 live births by a low cost, highly effective, safe plaster technique developed by Poinsetti, which saves surgery in 95% of cases. Many doctors from different district Hospitals of Uttar Pradesh including those from Chitrakoot, Jhansi, Aligarh and other states will be trained during this four days training program.
The Training program was inaugurated by Dr. Brijesh Rathore who is Director General Family Welfare, Government of Uttar Pradesh. Dr. Amit Singh, General Secretary, Provisional Medical Services Association Uttar Pradesh and Dr. Reshma Masood, Dr. Reshma Masood Deputy General Manager, Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram, (RBSK), NHM, were also present on the occasion. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Era University Prof. Abbas Ali Mahdi presided over the inaugural function. The 4-days training program has been organized under the leadership of Dr. G.K. Singh who is heading the department of orthopedics at Era’s Lucknow Medical College and Hospital.
