Era College of Nursing celebrated Nurses Week from 8th May to 12th May 2023. The International Council for Nurses theme for 2023 Nurses Day was, “Our Nurses Our Future”.
The Chief Guest on the occasion was Prof. Mary J. Malik, President, TNM, UP state, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abbas Ali Mahdi & Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Farzana Mahdi, also present on the occasion.
Prof. (Dr.) Priscilla Samson, Principal, College of Nursing unveiled the Nurses Day theme. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Abbas Ali Mahdi, in his address to the students and faculty emphasized importance of nurses in healthcare system. The main features of the Nurses Week celebration included various competitions like Rangoli, Quiz Competition, AV aids & Debate. Food Fest “Pet Pooja” was organized by students and various food stalls were put up.
Under the mission Niramaya by the Uttar Pradesh State Medical Faculty, school health programme on “Menstrual Hygiene” was organized and sanitary napkins sponsored by Niine Foundation, were distributed to the students of Municipal Girls Inter College, Nakkhas, Lucknow.
A signature drive by UP State Government, Department of Medical Education and UPSMF, was initiated for Nurses.
Self Care Day was organized by the Departments of Happiness and Soft Skills, which was attended by Faculty, Nursing Officers and students.
On May 12th, a valedictory program was organized. The guest speakers and the competition judges were felicitated; participants were awarded Prizes for various competitions. Dignitaries from various Departments of University graced the occasion and delivered motivational talks.
