Era University celebrated 76th Republic Day with much gaiety. Large number of faculty members, employees and students attended the function in the forecourt of the University building. Function started with the unfurling of the national flag by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Abbas Ali Mahdi. Students of the University sang the national anthem and some patriotic songs on the occasion. Thereafter Hon’ble Vice Chancellor addressed the august gathering.
Prof. Abbas Ali Mahdi in his speech mentioned the importance of the day and why Republic Day is celebrated on 26th January. He spoke in detail about the adaptation of the constitution on this day. He said that our constitution is not only the supreme law of the country but it also establishes the structure, procedures, powers, and duties of the government and its institutions and also defines the rights and duties of citizens.
